Use of Woodchippers - 1 day Lantra CLMC35X
Woodchippers are an indispensable machine for any tree surgery operation. They reduce the volume of waste that needs removing from site by a factor of approximately 90%. They also convert a waste product (brushwood) into a useable product (woodchip). Common chipper capacities are 6" - 10" branch diameter, and any machine which will chip a branch this size at a feed rate of 1 foot per second is obviously potentially dangerous. Woodchipper training is therefore essential. The Lantra Course - Use of Woodchippers - is a 1 day course with integrated assessment by the instructor. This Lantra Certificate of Competence is recognised by the HSE, but if candidates wish to gain an NPTC Certificate of Competence the Lantra Training they have received should equip them to pass the NPTC assessment. Formal Woodchipper training is a legal requirement under PUWER - the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations.
