5 day Lantra CLMC 44X THIS IS A COMBINED COURSE This combined course allows successful candidates to fell trees commercially up to 380mm diameter. The first day is workshop based, covering legislation, risk assessments, basic chainsaw maintenance, chain ID, sharpening and organising site safety.
The next 4 days take place in a forest, and cover starting the saw safely, basic felling cuts, felling trees that lean back slightly, felling trees that lean forward significantly and manual take-down of hung up trees. For the purpose of this course, the length of the chainsaw bar is usually 15" (380mm), and the tree will therefore not exceed bar length. Chainsaw training is mandatory under the provisions of PUWER - the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations.
The chainsaw course is therefore designed specifically to prepare the candidate for the NPTC assessments CS30 and CS31. These are Certificates of Competence, which are a legal requirement for anyone using a chainsaw commercially. Achievement of these units is a pre-requisite of attending the Medium Tree Course, or training to use a chainsaw in a tree. £525pp + VAT Maximum 4 People A 10% discount is available if a client provides all 4 trainees for the course
